This resource is for use with Component 1 of both the Eduqas AS and A level Drama and Theatre courses.
There are 3 examples of how a play text could be reinterpreted, using the ideas of a theatre practitioner or company. Each example shows how the script can be used, edited, added to and reinterpreted, to incorporate these ideas. They exemplify potential outcomes only and are not prescriptive.
The examples are:
'Death of a Salesman', reinterpreted using the ideas of Brecht
’Top Girls', reinterpreted using the ideas of a Theatre-in-Education company (non-specific, so could be adapted for specific TIE companies)
'Three Sisters', reinterpreted using the ideas of Berkoff
